Why Michigan Beeswax?
Beeswax was chosen because it is a single-ingredient wax with a very simple refining process. This makes for a cleaner burn and fewer harmful particles in the air. We are Michigan-based and like to support local small businesses. Our beeswax is sourced from a small family farm in Croswell, Michigan. Windmill Hill Farm also sells their delicious honey.
Beeswax naturally has a sweet smell that pairs well with the essential oils we combine with the wax to create each unique aroma. We start with our locally sourced beeswax, add a small amount of organic coconut oil to aid in melting and fragrance distribution; and we fragrance each batch with therapeutic-grade essential oils and fragrance oils. Every candle or wax melt is made of about 97% pure Michigan beeswax.
Long-Burning
Beeswax has the highest melt point and cleanest burn of waxes used in candle making. Our beeswax-dipped, metal-free, natural cotton wicks have been hand-twisted to double-thickness to ensure the best burn, resulting in less wasted wax in your candle.
Our 8 oz solid beeswax candles burn for 40-50 hours with full pooling after 2-3 hours, depending on ambient room temperature.
Why are my candles different colors?
Some color variation is normal. Beeswax is a natural substance. The refining process changes the color, and we have used refined and unrefined beeswax. Essential oils can vary in color as well. We also add colorless coconut oil to aid in fragrance distribution. We do not use any dyes in our beeswax candles or melts. The wax we use today is unrefined, and still contains some honey from the hive.
What Smells So Good?
We use therapeutic-grade 100% essential oils and high-quality fragrance oils in our scented candles and melts. We mix our fragrances to compliment the natural aroma of the beeswax. All our fragrances are created by hand in our workshop in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Small Batches, Made with Love
We started making our own beeswax candles at home so that we could customize our own scents and use only the best ingredients. We make all of our candles in small batches; we hand-mix and pour each candle to ensure every product we create will be a beautiful addition to your home. Our love and passion goes into every jar.
